Updated: December 18, 2015

Dallas, Texas – The 9-0 Mustangs started out the match against the Pirates in somewhat of a slump. The Pirates took the lead early in the first half as the Mustangs appeared sluggish in both ball handling and shooting. Hampton had it’s largest lead by 9 points in the first half just shy of the eleven minute mark.

Gaining some momentum, fueled by a couple of fast-break plays, the Mustangs began to come to life and had a ten point lead with 2:51 left to play in the half. The Mustangs had revived themselves closing out the first half with a 2 point lead, 43-41.

At the start of the second half the Mustangs were rejuvenated and kept the crowd of 6329 attendees on their feet. Jordan Tolbert had another outstanding night grabbing 19 rebounds and scoring 20 points. The top SMU scorer was Sterling Brown with 23 points and Nic Moore contributed 18 points to the 105-72 SMU victory over Hampton.

SMU will host Kent St. on December 22nd at 7:00 PM.
