Updated: December 17, 2015

Dallas, Texas – In an easy landslide victory on Wednesday night at Moody Coliseum the Mustangs defeated the Colonels 86-42. The Mustangs were short handed with three of their players out with injuries, including regular starter Marcus Kennedy (ankle), but that didn’t slow things down. With only seven players, the Mustangs played a fast paced game and maintained a leading score for the entire game.

With an impressive 23 rebounds, Jordan Tolbert scored 18 points playing 30 minutes. The highest scorer for the Mustangs was Ben Moore with 22 points and 15 rebounds. Freshman Shake Milton contributed 20 points to the winning score. When asked about the high number of rebounds he retrieved, Tolbert stated “I just want to give my team a better chance to win each time and if that’s what I have to do, then I don’t have a problem with it”.

The Colonels highest scorer was T.J. Carpenter with 12 points. Ja’Dante’ Frye and Liam Thomas both contributed nine points for Nicholls. Nicholls head coach J.P. Piper said of the Mustangs “Covering them was extremely difficult because of their strength and athleticism. They were just better than us.”

SMU will host Hampton on Thursday
