Cowboys Minicamp

Updated: April 1, 2015

Day 3 of the Dallas Cowboys minicamp was held at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, TX. Coach Garrett said this is something the organization likes to do to give the new guys a ‘feel’ of what it’s like to play on the field once the regular season starts.

2nd string quarterback Kyle Orton was a no show again today as he has been for the past two days. There is a lot of speculation as to his no show being an indication of his retirement. Coach Garrett is anticipating a conversation with Orton on the situation stating that he likes to consider a players body of work and not just a single incident. Orton is facing up to 70K in fines and penalties.

With Orton being a no show and Tony Romo still rehabbing, Brandon Weeden was able to lead the team during minicamp. Coach Garrett feels he did an excellent job and is excited that he got the opportunity to show what he can do.

The 2nd round draft pick from Boise State is officially a Dallas Cowboy. DeMarcus ‘Tank’ Lawrence signed a four year contract worth 5 and a half million dollars with 3.8m guaranteed.

The Dallas Cowboys have five weeks of rest before heading to Oxnard, California in July for training camp.
